Barry Stewart Mann's workshop unleashes imagination and creativity while supporting academic development in children. By actively engaging children in creative and interactive learning, it transforms education into an engaging and immersive experience. Pedagogical research underscores the value of hands-on, experiential learning in academic devlopment and success. In this unique programme children will explore maths, science and social studies concepts through folklore, children's literature, and original stories, facilitating creative exploration, integration and application of abstract concepts.
Collaborative storytelling and drama activities foster teamwork and cooperation, essential social skills that are reinforced through shared experiences. Improvisation exercises cultivate quick thinking and adaptability, aligning with educational theories that emphasise the significance of flexible cognition and problem-solving abilities. Literacy is enhanced through activities that boost reading skills and oral interpretation via Readers Theatre, a method shown to improve language fluency and comprehension. Children will also learn how to craft stories with compelling characters, plots, and dialogue, thereby developing writing and understanding of narrative structures.
